Tuonela Wilderness Resort Lodging
The Log Lodge was built in 1997 and is the main centre for all activities. It is 4km from the road and with its wood stove, 12v lighting and oil lamps, it is a cozy centre from which to explore the trail system. Groups renting the cabins may also use the Lodge for evening activities or special functions and dinner can be provided upon request. The Lodge is equipped with audio-visual equipment for both movie & powerpoint presentations. New for the 2007 season was the “Tanzhaus”, a great hit with guests, it is a multipurpose social centre used for ceilidh’s & set up as a games room.
The “Chalet”, the “Grand Chalet”, the “Bunkhaus” & the “8 Tree Cabin” all with housekeeping facilities have woodstoves, 12volt lighting and propane burners along with single & queen sized beds PLUS a bed for your pooch. The wood fired “Sauna” can accommodate up to 4 people for a sauna and has an extremely cozy queen sized bed for a couple to spend the night. There is a luxurious two holer outhouse with inlaid hardwood seats & solid brass coat hook for the necessities of life. All pots, pans & galley requisites are provided, all you need is your own food. Baggage can be retrieved from the parking lot and delivered to your cabin before dark. All 8 cabins are grouped together in the “Tuonela Ski Village” which nestles at the base of the Telemark Hill.
